Technical Features :

Water Tightness :

Water infiltration is the continuous penetration of water which comes in contact with building components which have not been treated against moisture .

There are many ways  by which water can penetrate through window ,major cause being the gap between the sash and the frame which allow water to penetrate during heavy rain fall accompanied by strong winds . These gaps in THEERTHAM -Polytuf have been avoided with the help of weather stripping .

Further THEERTHAM -Polytuf sections do not get deformed after a passage of time unlike conventional material which allows voids to appear which in turn cause water penetration.

Strength  & Rigidity :

THEERTHAM -Polytuf windows are strong enough (when closed ) to resist the maximum pressure that may be caused on the sections by wind loads .These are also capable of withstanding accidental pressures or impact which are normally expected to face during their normal usage in the building.

THEERTHAM -Polytuf windows are still enough to withstand wind buffets , the forces which could tent to disturb the frames and put these out of place and can also harm the material . Wind pressure quite frequently causes windows to slam-shut or flung-open against the walls ,sometimes with dangerous leverage that can put the whole systems out of gear.

Inherited strength of THEERTHAM-Polytuf sections has been further enhanced by insulating steel reinforcement bars into its chambers to withstand the worst imaginable conditions.

Pre-Installation Protection :

Windows are installed in a building at a stage of civil work where plastering ,painting ,cladding ,colour washing and other finishing work is yet to follow.All the activities can bring surface damage to the window material and the conventional practice is to paint or polish the window in the aftermath.

THEETHAM -Polytuf windows however to overcome all these hazards come with an easily peelable protective film,which can be removed after all finishing work of the building is over or just prior to its occupation.

Maintenance Free :

THEERTHAM-Polytuf windows need no major maintenance .Scratches can be buffed off very easily ,blemishes or stains can be removed just with a mild detergent and water.Periodic oiling is desirable to the hardware same way as for any other window system.

Durability for a Lifetime :

Windows are an important component in a building . Ideally a good window system must last at least the life of the building with minimal maintenance . Traditionally alternative window materials chosen have either wood or metal. Both have serious limitations .

Wooden frames with or without surface finishes could be resistant to rot but quite often easily attacked by fungus ,moth and termites .In addition moisture content variations cause dimensional changes resulting in fitting and operational problems.

Metal frames are of course very sturdy and durable but have serious problems in varying weather conditions and especially susceptible to corrosion.

THEERTHAM-Polytuf windows have an inner invisible steel reinforcement which imparts all the strength and sturdiness that steel can contribute . The exterior Upvc gives total protection from rain humidity. Radioactivity fall out ,dust ,smoke ,pollution do not pitt and certainly not corrode its surface. Fire Resistance :

THEERTHAM-Polytuf sections exhibit excellent fire behaviour and do not extend fire once the source of flame is removed from it . Upvc is very difficult to ignite by common ignition sources . It is self -extinguishing .

Thermal Insulation :

As a result of the energy crisis the consumer has become increasingly aware of the importance of thermal insulation .Heat losses through windows represent 20 to 30 % of total heat losses . The insulation value of building materials is indicated by the K value ( W/m2K) .The smaller the K value the larger will be the saving . K value of some window frames is as below :

Thus Aluminium profiles conduct heat or cold 1250 times quicker than upvc profiles; with same wall thickness and dimension. The thermal insulation can be enhanced even more by multiple glazing units  which is possible with THEERTHAM -Polytuf .

Acoustic Insulation :

People these days are becoming more and more conscious about noise pollution as it affects human life in many ways .

The external noise from road ,rail ,air traffic and the adjoining factories and dwellings get transmitted inside the building in two ways :

  • Air borne waves
  • Metallic borne waves

 

 

Acoustic insulation is more dependent on the type of windows , the type of gaskets and seals ,the overall air tightness and the type of glazing.

The joint permeability between window frame and the casement as well as between window frame and masonry plays an important role in sound insulation. By inserting weather strips a considerable level of air tightness can be achieved thereby almost reducing the chances of noise travel through air . The metallic borne noise is effected by the type of glazing .The heavier the glazing ,the better the insulating value shall be . Multiple glazing units can easily be accommodated in THEERTHAM -Polytuf window systems .

Thus our windows systems being more air tight , fabricated out of multi-chambered sections and by using multiple glazing are able to resist both modes of noise travel effectively.

THEERTHAM -Polytuf doors & window systems have been designed to provide total flexibility ,giving the consumers a complete choise of window and door styles like casement , sliding , tilt & turn , louvered  etc.

The visual appearance is elegant ,simple and in keeping with architectural requirements .

Windows are specially tailor made as per customer’s designs and sizes .Standard sizes and designs can also be catered.
